George & Kathy of Wantagh, NY needed to update their kitchen. As a plumber with a commercial account at Green Art, George knew exactly who to turn to for their re-design.
The first step was to knock down the far wall and remove the bathroom and pantry behind the kitchen to extend the space. This would also allow more natural light to brighten the room.
The old dark countertops seemed to clash with the beige backsplash and white cabinets. Terri Martello, a resident kitchen designer at Green Art, recommended a lighter countertop and island cabinets that match the wood of the rafters. These changes bring more cohesiveness to the family’s kitchen.
Lighting emits from the top and bottom of the upper cabinets as well as the inside of the windowed doors. Traditional lamp shade chandeliers hang from the cathedral-style ceiling creating a mood so inviting, you feel right at home.
The remodeled kitchen boasts Dynasty by Omega cabinets. Around the perimeter is the Delray door style in Oyster with Cognac Glaze. The island is the Danville door style in Rustic Alder Sage with Coffee Glaze. Contrasting oil-rubbed bronze hardware pairs perfectly with both cabinet styles. Kathy chose a cushion-patterned backsplash almost as unique as the design on the farmhouse sink.
“Terri was great to work with at Green Art,” said Kathy, admiring the beauty of her new kitchen. The family is grateful to have a home that is as warm and charming as they are. And of course there’s Fritz, the friendliest pup you’ll ever meet!
