Those that live on Long Island know that Long Beach is almost like another world. The relaxed pace, the small businesses and restaurants, the boardwalk, and of course the beach make it a wonderful place to call home. Helen Murray, Certified Kitchen Designer of Green Art, was thrilled to get away from the hustle and bustle of the mainland to help the homeowners of this Long Beach apartment with their kitchen cabinets.
The wall separating the kitchen and living room was removed, opening up the space and creating a beautiful oversized island. The wall cabinets are the Highland door style from DuraSupreme in Classic White paint. The island cabinets are also DuraSupreme in the Knotty Alder style in Weathered C finish. The weathered wood along with the blue backsplash gives a beachy feel, quite appropriate for the location.
Exposed brick within the potholder hooks and around the columns on the island adds a rustic touch. A stainless steel farmhouse sink is a great choice as it provides both function and durability while matching the appliances. Their feline friend even modeled the bar stools for us!
“Our experience with Helen was excellent,” said the apartment owners, who were referred to Green Art by their contractor. We couldn’t be more proud of the way this kitchen turned out. Stay tuned for the next featured remodel!
Love the article, and I agree there is nothing like coastal living. The blue tile does match the beachy vibe. For the finishing touches, little DIY projects can go along way, and they don’t cost much. Hanging mug holders and farmhouse message board.
Speaking of coastal living, that was the inspiration for Nantucket Sinks. Especially the cape cod collection of fireclay you can read more here https://www.annieandoak.com/collections/nantucket-sinks
What is the next featured model? Can’t wait to see it! Thanks again for the article and posting the fantastic photos.
